چکیده

To increase the payload capacity of the hidden secret information and to provide an imperceptible stegoimage for human vision, an enhanced steganographic method using multidirectional block based pixel-value differencing is proposed in this paper. To enhance the hiding payload capacity in image an steganographic method based on three-pixel block differences by Lin and Hseuh referring to only one direction but in the proposed method multi directional edges are considered and effectively adopted to design the scheme of multi directional block based PVD.As we know our human vision is sensitive to slight changes in the smooth regions, while it can tolerate more severe changes in the edge regions, in proposed method more secret data is embedded in those busy regions. In addition, to reduce the quality distortion of stego-image brought from setting larger embedding capacity, an optimal approach of selecting the reference point and adaptive rules are presented. This approach can be apply to gray as well as colored image also.Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can provide higher embedding capacity and give protection from dual statistical stego-analysis.Besides, the embedded confidential data can be extracted from stegoimages without the need of original images.

Steganalysis of embedding in difference of image pixel pairs by neural network

In this paper a steganalysis method is proposed for pixel value differencing method. This steganographic method, which has been immune against conventional attacks, performs the embedding in the difference of the values of pixel pairs. Therefore, the histogram of the differences of an embedded image is di_erent as compared with a cover image. A number of characteristics are identified in the di...

A Steganographic Method by Pixel-Value Differencing and Exploiting Modification Direction

In this paper, we shall propose a new image steganographic scheme for embedding secret messages into a gray-valued cover image and capable of producing a secret-embedded image that is totally indistinguishable from the original image by the human eye. In addition, the proposed scheme avoids the falling-off-boundary problem by using the Pixel-Value Differencing (PVD) and the Exploiting Modificat...

A steganographic method for digital images with four-pixel differencing and modified LSB substitution

To improve the embedding capacity and provide an imperceptible visual quality, a novel steganographic method based on four-pixel differencing and modified least significant bit (LSB) substitution is presented. The average difference value of a four-pixel block is exploited to classify the block as a smooth area or an edge area. Secret data are hidden into each pixel by the k-bit modified LSB su...

A Steganographic Method Based on Pixel-Value Differencing and the Perfect Square Number

The pixel-value differencing (PVD) scheme uses the difference value between two consecutive pixels in a block to determine how many secret bits should be embedded. There are two types of the quantization range table in Wu and Tasi’s method. The first was based on selecting the range widths of [8, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128], to provide large capacity. The second was based on selecting the range widths ...

Steganography Using Adaptive Pixel Value Differencing(APVD) of Gray Images Through Exclusion of Overflow/Underflow

In a gray scale image the pixel value ranges from 0 to 255. But when we use pixel-value differencing (pvd) method as image steganographic scheme, the pixel values in the stego-image may exceed gray scale range. An adaptive steganography based on modified pixel-value differencing through management of pixel values within the range of gray scale has been proposed in this paper. PVD method is used...
